Mountain Avens:
                                                                                                             Dryas octopetala. N.O.Rosaceae

Low creeping downy undershrub with long stems. Eight or more petals and many conspicuous yellow stamens.

Flowers from May to July.

Habitat: Mountain rocks, and to sea level in the North, on Limestone.

Medicinal actions and uses: Though described in 'Mrs. Grieve's Modern Herbal' it doesn't appear to have any.
